Group Therapy for High School-Age Teen Girls in Illinois

At Sana Mind PLLC, we offer group therapy designed specifically for high school–age teen girls navigating the pressures of adolescence. This group focuses on building essential CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skills to manage emotions, cope with stress, and strengthen resilience during these formative years.

As a licensed school social worker with over five years of experience in schools and therapeutic settings, I have worked with students across a wide range of needs, including those with high acuity. My background also includes a deep understanding of 504 and IEP plans, allowing me to support both teens and families as they balance academic, social, and emotional demands.

Teen girls tend to build rapport with me easily because I bring a safe, fun, and non-traditional style of therapy that feels relatable and approachable. I believe therapy should never feel clinical or intimidating—it should be a space where teens feel heard, supported, and free to be themselves.

Being a high schooler today is uniquely complex. Between academic pressures, friendship dynamics, extracurricular demands, and the constant influence of social media, many teen girls experience anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm. In group therapy, they discover they are not alone, while practicing tools for self-esteem, healthy coping, communication, and emotional regulation.

At Sana Mind PLLC, my approach is always teen-centered and empathetic, creating a space where young women can feel connected, supported, and empowered to thrive.
